Paul Ream Trust Fund

Paul Ream has been an anchor in Provo for many years.  Early in his life, Mr. Ream became a successful businessman in Provo, opening a grocery store on West Center Street and later converting a closed ice skating rink on 200 West into another grocery store. As his stores became increasingly successful, he opened several other new stores in Utah; however he never forgot the community that supported his start in the grocery business.

Mr. Ream became a very generous gift and donation giver for many groups throughout the community, in particular the senior citizens of Provo and Provo Parks and Recreation Department.  He has helped the American Indians in our region, veterans groups and continues with generous acts to those in need.

In 1973 Mr. Ream donated $97,100 to a trust fund for the IProvo Senior Center and later in 1984 he contributed $100,000 for what is known as the "Paul Ream Wilderness Park". Throughout the years, the trust has increased substantially, allowing funds to continually filter into the senior citizen programs.  It is rare to find people of such a generous nature, and our community is the benefactor of Paul Ream's genuine giving.

Help make the Paul Ream Trust Fund grow
Donating to the needs of our seniors is a great way to meet your philanthropy goals. When Paul Ream established the endowment for the senior center, it was his dream to have others join with him in creating a million-dollar trust fund for the Eldred Senior Center.  The Provo Foundation invites you to come and join the dream and let your donation help build this special endowment. We use only the interest created by the principle amount in the trust to support the senior center programs and facilities. Please contact the foundation director at 852-6515 on how to make your donation or click on Donation Form located on the left column.
