The Eldred Sunset Manor Foundation was created in 1955 when Lantie Jesse Eldred, a prominent Provo businessman, willed his life estate to the foundation. Mr. Eldred died in 1963.   His wife, Mildred, passed away in 1964.  The main focus of the foundation is to help senior citizens.  Provo's Eldred Senior Center, completed in 1964, is named after the Eldreds and received substantial funding from the foundation to assist in building the center.

The Eldred Sunset Manor Foundation not only supports the Eldred Senior Center with annual cash gifts, but also gives annual cash gifts to communities and other nonprofit groups throughout the valley.  Since 1969 tens of thousands of dollars have been donated by the foundation to various worthy causes throughout the Utah County area. The Provo Foundation recognizes and honors The Eldred Sunset Manor Foundation for its years of generous gift giving.
